WWOOF PORTUGAL: DINÂMICA ANFITRIÃO-VOLUNTÁRIO EM QUINTAS BIOLÓGICAS E A SUA INFLUÊNCIA NO DESENVOLVIMENTO LOCAL SUSTENTÁVEL
RESUMO: A presente investigação pretende compreender a influência dos anfitriões da WWOOF e dos seus voluntários no desenvolvimento sustentável dos locais onde se edificam. Para a concretização deste objetivo, optou-se por uma investigação de carácter misto, tendo sido realizada a recolha dos dados no universo dos anfitriões da WWOOF Portugal e na coordenação desta mesma organização, através de inquéritos por questionário e de uma entrevista semiestruturada, respetivamente.
A análise de dados e de conteúdo permitiu-nos concluir que os projetos de agricultura biológica afetos à WWOOF têm um impacte positivo nos locais onde se desenvolvem. Deste modo, contribuem para a melhoria da qualidade de vida das comunidades que os envolvem, atuam sob o epiteto da equidade social, participam numa economia local, preservando a identidade da cultura que os abraça e o ambiente que lhes permite subsistir, numa consciência sustentável.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT: The present research intends to understand the influence of the WWOOF hosts and their volunteers in the sustainable development of the places where their properties stand. In order to achieve this objective, a mixed research nature was chosen, collecting data by the Portuguese WWOOF hosts and by the coordination of the same organization, through questionnaire surveys and a semi-structured interview.
Data and content analysis allowed us to conclude that WWOOF's organic farming projects have a positive impact on the sites where they grow. In this way, they contribute to improve the quality of life of the communities and act under the epithet of social equity, while participating in a local economy, preserving the identity of the culture whom embraces them and the environment that allows them to subsist, in a sustainable consciousness.
