VOLUNTARIADO NA PANDEMIA DA COVID-19 DESENVOLVIDO NA REDE PUBLICA DE SAÚDE POR ESTUDANTES DO PRIMEIRO ANO DO CURSO DE MEDICINA
O presente estudo, em formato de relato de experiência e revisão narrativa, visa analisar, de maneira teórica e prática, os benefícios relacionados ao trabalho voluntário em um cenário emergencial de saúde pública. Sabe-se que, em março de 2020, a OMS declarou como pandemia a nova doença causada por coronavírus, COVID-19. Assim, muitos governos, decretaram situação de emergência e isolamento social; em Curitiba/PR ocorreu dias depois. Para manter o controle, a Secretaria Municipal da Saúde (SMS) colocou em prática o Plano de Contingência para o Enfrentamento do Novo Coronavírus, onde foi apresentada a necessidade da convocação de voluntários os quais atuariam em teleatendimento, catalogação de dados, nos postos de vacinação e gerenciamento de insumos. As acadêmicas, autoras do relato, atestam aquilo já encontrado em literatura, a qual ratifica a importância da atuação voluntária em detrimento da mão de obra escassa durante a pandemia. Ainda, foi possível notar que os estudantes de medicina formam candidatos demasiadamente competentes para o voluntariado, uma vez que são prontos, dispostos e capazes. Assim, atuando em diversas funções médicas diretas ou indiretas e/ou administrativas, as voluntárias obtiveram saldos de aprendizado intelectual, empático e solidário. Por fim, enfatiza-se a importância da união de órgãos públicos e a Academia de Medicina em situações como a elencada, com o propósito de formar médicos responsáveis e cidadãos conscientes de seus direitos e deveres.

Abstract:
The present study, in the format of an experience report and narrative review, aims to analyze, in a theoretical and practical way, the benefits related to volunteer work in an emergency public health scenario. It is known that in March 2020, the WHO declared as pandemic the new disease caused by coronavirus, COVID-19. Thus, many governments, decreed a situation of emergency and social isolation; in Curitiba/PR it happened days later. To maintain control, the Municipal Health Office (SMS) put into practice the Contingency Plan for Coping with the New Coronavirus, which presented the need to call for volunteers who would work in telecare, data cataloging, vaccination posts, and management of supplies. The students, authors of the report, attest to what has already been found in the literature, which ratifies the importance of volunteer work in detriment of the shortage of employees during the pandemic. Furthermore, it was possible to notice that medical students make very competent candidates for volunteering, since they are ready, willing, and able. Thus, acting in various direct or indirect medical and/or administrative roles, the volunteers obtained intellectual, empathetic, and solidarity learning balances. Finally, it is emphasized the importance of the union of public entities and the Academy of Medicine in situations such as the one listed, with the purpose of forming responsible physicians and citizens aware of their rights and duties.
