USO DE ANTIDEPRESSIVOS E ANSIOLÍTICOS POR ACADÊMICOS DE UM CURSO DE ENGENHARIA AGRÍCOLA
Transtornos mentais são considerados um problema de saúde pública no Brasil. Quando o cenário é o ambiente acadêmico, entende-se que os universitários estão bastante susceptíveis a depressão e transtornos de ansiedade por estarem frequentemente expostos a situações estressantes, facilitando a instalação de um sofrimento mental e consequente uso de medicamentos. Nesse contexto, o trabalho teve como objetivo, avaliar o uso de antidepressivos e/ou ansiolíticos por acadêmicos do curso de Engenharia Agrícola de uma Universidade localizada ao sul de Mato Grosso. Trata-se de uma pesquisa quantitativa, exploratória e descritiva, realizada mediante aplicação de questionário com perguntas fechadas referentes ao uso dos antidepressivos e/ou ansiolíticos. Foram incluídos acadêmicos de Engenharia Agrícola da Universidade Federal de Rondonópolis com idade igual ou superior a 18 anos. As entrevistas foram iniciadas após a aprovação pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa (CAAE: 96080718.0.0000.8088) e assinatura do Termo de Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido pelo sujeito do estudo. Foram entrevistados 31 acadêmicos, desses, 15,78% utilizam essa classe medicamentosa, destacando a ansiedade como principal indicação de uso (66,6%), iniciando o tratamento após ingressar na Universidade (83,3%), em uso diário (83,3%) e prescrito pelo psiquiatra (100%). A maioria dos usuários afirmaram nunca ter alterado a dosagem sem consultar o médico (66,6%) e garantem possuir conhecimento sobre efeitos adversos do medicamento (100%). Verificou-se a necessidade de fornecer acolhimento e suporte aos acadêmicos em sofrimento mental. Tais ações deverão incluir orientações que visem conscientizar sobre uso racional e seguro dos psicofármacos, reduzindo os riscos associados ao uso indevido.

Mental disorders are considered a public health problem in Brazil. When the scenario is the academic environment, it is understood that university students are quite susceptible to depression and anxiety disorders because they are often exposed to stressful situations, facilitating the installation of mental suffering and the consequent use of medications. In this context, the work aimed to evaluate the use of antidepressants and / or anxiolytics by students of the Agricultural Engineering course at a University located in the south of Mato Grosso. It is a quantitative, exploratory and descriptive research, carried out by applying a questionnaire with closed questions regarding the use of antidepressants and / or anxiolytics. Agricultural Engineering students from the Federal University of Rondonópolis, aged 18 years or over, were included. The interviews started after approval by the Research Ethics Committee (CAAE: 96080718.0.0000.8088) and signature of the Free and Informed Consent Form by the study subject. 31 academics were interviewed, of whom 15.78% use this medication class, highlighting anxiety as the main indication for use (66.6%), starting treatment after entering the University (83.3%), in daily use (83 , 3%) and prescribed by the psychiatrist (100%). Most users stated that they had never changed the dosage without consulting the doctor (66.6%) and claimed to have knowledge about the adverse effects of the medication (100%). There was a need to provide welcome and support to students in mental distress. Such actions should include guidelines aimed at raising awareness about the rational and safe use of psychotropic drugs, reducing the risks associated with misuse.
