UNIVERSIDADE E INTERCULTURALIDADE: OS ALUNOS HISPANO-AMERICANOS NA PÓS-GRADUAÇÃO DA UFPA
O objetivo do estudo é analisar a
inserção de alunos de língua espanhola em
cursos de pós-graduação da UFPA. O ingresso
desses estudantes é resultado, entre outros
esforços de cooperação internacional da
UFPA, do Programa dos Estados Americanos:
“Alianças para a Educação e a Capacitação”,
que visa o desenvolvimento humano, a
integração dos Estados e o apoio a qualidade
e equidade da educação nas Américas. O
estudo volta-se a identificação das estratégias
realizadas por esses alunos para preservação
e fortalecimento da identidade cultural hispanoamericana e para a inserção na cultura brasileira,
bem como a avaliação desses sobre barreiras
pedagógicas e/ou curriculares encontradas
para cursar uma pós-graduação na UFPA. A
pesquisa se apoia na contribuição de autores
como Candau (2008), Oliveira e Freitas (2017),
Santos (2003) entre outros. Do ponto de vista
metodológico, o estudo configura-se como uma
pesquisa exploratória, na modalidade survey.
Os resultados revelam que a experiência
internacional é avaliada positivamente por
esses estudantes, apesar do grande desafio em
conciliar os estudos ao aprendizado da língua
portuguesa e das dificuldades de adaptação e
convivência. Indicam ainda a necessidade do
aprofundamento de políticas de inclusão dos
discentes hispano-americanos para que estes
se sintam mais seguros e valorizados pelos
programas de pós-graduação da UFPA, o que
inclui a ampliação do uso da língua espanhola
e a afirmação de uma identidade latinoamericana.

Abstract:
The objective of the study is to
analyze the insertion of Spanish-speaking
students into postgraduate courses at UFPA.
The entry of these students is a result, among
other UFPA international cooperation efforts,
of the Program of American States: “Alliances
for Education and Training”, which aims at
human development, integration of states and
support for quality and equity of education in the Americas. The study is based on the
identification of the strategies carried out by these students to preserve and strengthen
the Hispano-American cultural identity and to insert them in the Brazilian culture, as
well as the evaluation of these on pedagogical and / or curricular barriers found for
postgraduate studies in UFPA. The research is based on the contribution of authors
such as Candau (2008), Oliveira and Freitas (2017), Santos (2003) and others. From
the methodological point of view, the study is an exploratory research, in the survey
modality. The results show that the international experience is positively evaluated
by these students, despite the great challenge of reconciling studies with Portuguese
language learning and the difficulties of adaptation and coexistence. They also indicate
the need to deepen the inclusion policies of Hispanic-American students so that they feel
more secure and valued by UFPA’s graduate programs, which includes the expansion
of the use of the Spanish language and the affirmation of a Latin identity American.
