TRATAMENTO FISIOTERAPÊUTICO NA MELHORA DA QUALIDADE DE VIDA DE PACIENTES PORTADORES DE MICROCEFALIA: RELATO DE CASO
A microcefalia pela síndrome
congênita do Zika Vírus, é uma malformação
congênita, onde o cérebro da criança não se
desenvolve normalmente. O agente transmissor
direto do vírus zika é o mosquito Aedes Aegypt.
A transmissão para o feto ainda intra-útero
ocorre de forma transplacentária, quando a
genitora é acometida pelo zika vírus. Há uma
relação quando ao nível de comprometimento
neurológico de acordo com a via de contágio
e a idade gestacional. OBJETIVO: Mostrar a
importância do tratamento fisioterapêutico para
melhorar a qualidade de vida de pacientes
portadores de microcefalia congênita causada
pelo zika vírus. METODOLOGIA: O estudo foi

realizado no laboratório de uma instituição de ensino superior em de março à maio de
2018, com um paciente portador de Microcefalia. Foram realizados 7 atendimentos,
com técnicas de terapia manual, alongamento e Método Padovan. Também foram
incluídas técnicas respiratórias de aumento do fluxo expiratório (AFE), desobstrução
rinofaríngea retrograda com instilação de soro (DRRi) e aspiração de vias aéreas
superiores. RESULTADOS: Paciente JMBR, sexo masculino, 2 anos de idade.
Apresentou ausência de movimentos voluntários constituindo uma hipotonia com
episódios de distonia. Observou-se padrão flexor de cotovelos, rigidez em membros
inferiores e membro superior esquerdo e encurtamento de quadrado lombar direito e
adutores. Alguns atendimentos o paciente apresentou secreção basal, apical e facial.
Em 7 atendimentos, paciente obteve melhora significativa em sua movimentação
global, notando-se evolução na força e mobilidade em MMSS e MMII e maior
resistência nas posturas. CONCLUSÃO: A fisioterapia nesses pacientes, que é
de fundamental importância, contribuindo durante a estimulação precoce para um
bom desenvolvimento motor, aprimorando e reorganizando padrões patológicos,
melhorando assim a qualidade de vida da criança.

Abstract:
Microcephaly is a poor congenital formation where the brain does not
develop normally. It occurs through an infection by the Zika virus, transmitted by Aedes
Aegypt. This infection can be avoided, with information of some preventive measures
that will end up eliminating the mosquito. OBJECTIVE: The main objective of this study
was to show the importance of the physiotherapeutic treatment to improve the quality
of life of patients with congenital microcephaly caused by zika virus. METHODOLOGY:
The study was performed in the Laboratory of a Teaching Institution in May, 2018, with
a patient with Microcephaly. Seven treatments were performed with manual therapy,
stretching techniques and Padovan method. Also included were respiratory techniques
to increase expiratory flow (AFE), rhino pharyngeal clearance with serum instillation
(DRRi) and aspiration. RESULTS: JMBR patient, male, 2 years old. She presented
absence of voluntary movements constituting a hypertonia with episodes of dystonia.
Flexor elbow pattern, stiffness in lower limbs and left upper limb, and shortening of
lumbar square and adductors were observed. Some patient consultations presented
basal, apical and facial secretion. In 7 patients, the patient showed a significant
improvement in their global movement, with an increase in strength in MMSS and
MMII and greater resistance. CONCLUSION: We conclude, emphasizing the need of
physiotherapy in these patients, which is of fundamental importance to early stimulation
for a good motor development, thus improving their quality of life.
