Abstract: The text discusses the intense transphobia and ageism faced by elderly transgender people, highlighting greater hostility in remote interactions and the absence of these individuals in social spaces, which deepens their exclusion. It addresses the slow pace of legal initiatives in reducing inequalities and the erasure of transgender identities in academia and society. Accounts from elderly transgender individuals indicate double discrimination and challenges in securing rights, healthcare, employment, and social recognition, compounded by institutional violence and prejudices even in public services and electronic systems. There is a lack of representation of these individuals in research, high economic vulnerability, abandonment of active sexual life, and intense loneliness, as well as difficulties accessing shelters and appropriate care. Testimonies also show the diversity of their experiences, including resistance and attempts to live with dignity. The text emphasizes the lack of specific public policies and the non-compliance with norms such as Decree 8.727/2016, culminating in the reinforcement of institutional violence and the legal invisibility of the elderly transgender population in Brazil. It concludes that it is urgent for the State to act to combat discrimination, ensuring access to fundamental rights and eradicating institutional violence so that elderly transgender individuals can fully enjoy their constitutional rights and the Elderly Person Statute.
