The relationship between the family and the school in early childhood education: the voice of the school principals
O trabalho tem como objetivo principal analisar os discursos de diretoras escolares sobre o papel da família como elemento constituinte do processo educativo discente. A pesquisa é um estudo de caso, de caráter qualitativo, realizado em quatro escolas públicas da educação infantil na Região da Baixada Fluminense, periferia do município do Rio de Janeiro. A representação discursiva das gestoras compreende a importância da família para o bom desempenho escolar das crianças. Contudo, in loco, reconhece que a ausência dos responsáveis nos eventos escolares tem comprometido o rendimento escolar e provocado conflitos psicológicos onde a criança percebe-se, de alguma forma, desprotegida ou desamparada.

Abstract:
The main objective of this paper is to analyze the speeches of school principals about the role of the family as a constituent element of the student educational process. The research is a qualitative case study, carried out in four private schools of early childhood education, in the Baixada Fluminense Region, Rio de Janeiro’s periphery. The discursive representation of the managers understands the importance of the family for the good school performance of the children. However, in loco, she recognizes that the absence of those responsible for school events has compromised school performance and caused psychological conflicts where the child perceives himself, in some way, unprotected or helpless.
