The convergence of Internet of Things and Blockchain technologies and business
Vemos Internet das Coisas como
um fenômeno emergente de grande significado
técnico, social e econômico. Produtos de
consumo, bens duráveis, componentes
industriais e de utilidade pública, sensores,
e outros objetos do cotidiano estão sendo
combinados com a conectividade da Internet e
com capacidades analíticas de dados poderosas
que prometem transformar a forma como nós
trabalhamos, vivemos e nos divertimos. Ao
mesmo tempo em que IoT torna-se popular,
Blockchain é anunciado como o quinto grande
paradigma de mudança na computação,
depois do mainframe, computadores pessoais,
a Internet e as redes sociais, uma vez que
irá mais uma vez alterar significativamente a
nossa maneira de viver e trabalhar. A junção
dessas duas novas formas de conectividade
deverá trazer grandes benefícios e, apesar
do entendimento acerca desses paradigmas,
muitas dúvidas ainda pairam no domínio público
sobre como exatamente operam, o que se faz
necessário para adotá-las e como combinar
seus benefícios. Neste contexto, este estudo
tem como objetivo a abordagem de conceitos
relacionados à Blockchain e IoT, e como estas
tecnologias podem operar juntas quebrando
paradigmas e despertando um novo olhar sobre
a mudança tanto de infraestrutura, quanto de
plataformas e de aplicações para serviço.

Abstract:
We see Internet of Things - IoT as
an emergent phenomenon of great technical,
social and economic significance. Consumer
goods, durable goods, industrial and public
utility components, sensors, and other everyday
objects are being combined with Internet
connectivity and powerful data analytics
capabilities that promise to transform the way
we work, live and have fun. While IoT becomes
popular, Blockchain is advertised as the fifth
big paradigm shift in computing, mainframe,
personal computers later, the Internet and social
networks, a time that will once again change
the way we live and work. The junction of these
two new forms of connectivity should bring
great benefits and despite some understanding
about these paradigms, many questions still
hang in public domain about exactly how they
operate, what it is necessary to adopt them and
how to combine its benefits. In this context, this
study aims at the treatment of Blockchain-related concepts and IoT, and how these
technologies can operate together breaking paradigms and awakening a new look at
the change of both infrastructures, as platforms and applications for service.
