Abstract: This article aims to present the maritime erosion containment technology used on the coast of Maceió, applying the Dutch methodology using solid blocks and pre-cast concrete hexagonal rings, without the use of hardware. The city of Maceió has been suffering destruction due to the advance of the sea over the continent. This problem has been worsening due to the sediment deficit caused by maritime erosion as well as strong meteorological variations that have caused frequent sea surges and resulting in the destruction of urban infrastructures, in addition to the loss of vegetation due to human actions along the coast. Given this scenario, studies were developed on possible approaches to minimize the impacts of maritime erosion and contain the advance of the sea, with this, some methodologies were used, such as the use of gabion, rockfill with granite stone, retaining walls, bagwall, sandbag , and now the intervention of coastal containment through the application of concrete elements in the form of hexagonal rings and solid blocks. The innovative approach involving the use of hexagonal rings and massive blocks as part of coastal containment measures offers a promising prospect. Hexagonal rings, due to their unique geometric shape, can dissipate wave energy efficiently, thus reducing the impact force on the shore. On the other hand, massive blocks act as physical barriers, slowing erosion and protecting coastal soil. The coastal containment approach with hexagonal rings and massive blocks is an innovative and multifaceted strategy to tackle the problem of coastal erosion on the coast of Maceió.
