SOMBRAS DIGITAIS NA EDUCAÇÃO SUPERIOR: OS IMPACTOS DO CYBERBULLYING NO AMBIENTE ACADÊMICO

Objetivou-se evidenciar, com base na literatura, os impactos do cyberbullying na Educação Superior, abordando suas consequências no desempenho acadêmico, saúde mental e socialização dos estudantes. Trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica do tipo revisão integrativa da literatura, realizada nas bases de dados Scientific Electronic Library Online, Education Resources Information Center e Portal de Periódicos da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior. Para a busca, utilizou-se as palavras-chaves: “Educação”, “Cyberbullying”, “Ensino Superior”, “Bem-estar” e “Estudante”. Foram selecionados nove trabalhos para compor o quadro de resultados. O estudante do Ensino Superior vivencia diversos impactos decorrentes do cyberbullying, como: problemas de saúde mental (depressão, ansiedade e outros transtornos psicológicos), problemas sociais (baixa autoestima e vício em internet) e problemas acadêmicos (baixo desempenho, redução do coeficiente e evasão da faculdade). A literatura possui uma maior ênfase no público da educação básica. Todavia, é necessário desenvolver pesquisas que considerem outros públicos, como os estudantes de universidades.

  • Abstract: The aim of this study was to demonstrate, based on the literature, the impacts of cyberbullying in Higher Education, addressing its consequences on academic performance, mental health and socialization of students. This is an integrative literature review, conducted in the Scientific Electronic Library Online, Education Resources Information Center and the Journal Portal of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel. The following keywords were used for the search: “Education”, “Cyberbullying”, “Higher Education”, “Well-being” and “Student”. Nine studies were selected to compose the results table. Higher Education students experience several impacts resulting from cyberbullying, such as: mental health problems (depression, anxiety and other psychological disorders), social problems (low self-esteem and Internet addiction) and academic problems (low performance, reduction in the coefficient and college dropout). The literature has a greater emphasis on the basic education public. However, it is necessary to develop research that considers other audiences, such as university students.
