Abstract: Healthy eating and breastfeeding are crucial for the proper growth and development of children under two years of age, given that early interruption of breastfeeding and inadequate feeding practices significantly compromise nutritional status. In this context, Callista Roy's Adaptation Model, by understanding the individual as a system capable of adjusting to changes, offers a relevant perspective for the analysis of health indicators. This chapter aims to reflect on the applicability of this theoretical model in adapting new eating habits in young children, considering the role of parents and caregivers in preparing and offering food. It also highlights the importance of educational actions and the use of technologies grounded in consistent theoretical frameworks, capable of promoting behavioral changes and meeting the specific needs of each community and family. Thus, Roy's adaptation theory proves relevant for encouraging and consolidating healthy eating practices in the first years of life.
