Representações Semióticas de Produtos Notáveis: de Euclides aos dias de hoje
Esse artigo é parte de uma reflexão
originária de um projeto de pesquisa PIBIC-EM.
Apresentamos os registros de representação
semiótica para os produtos notáveis chamados
de quadrado da soma e da diferença, constantes
em “Os Elementos” e em livro didático usado
atualmente. É uma pesquisa bibliográfica que
busca analisar, à luz da Teoria dos Registros de
Representação Semiótica, os tipos de registros
utilizados para o tema nos dois contextos
citados. Observou-se que a representação em
língua natural se manteve, embora com uma
linguagem atual mais acessível, entretanto, a
representação figural (ou geométrica) de “Os
Elementos” deu lugar à representação algébrica
nos dias atuais. No livro didático atual analisado,a representação figural tem destaque apenas
na introdução ao tema. Conclui-se que o uso
concomitante, e intensivo, dos registros de
representação em língua natural, geométrica e
algébrica, favorece a aprendizagem relativa aos
produtos notáveis, contribuindo para a redução
das dificuldades inerentes ao tema.

Abstract:
This article is part of a reflection
originating from a PIBIC-EM research project. We
present the semiotic representation records for
the notable products called sum and difference
square, contained in “The Elements” and in
the textbook used today. It is a bibliographical
research that seeks to analyze, in the light of
the Theory of Semiotic Representation Records,
the types of records used for the subject in
the two contexts cited. It was observed that
the representation in natural language was
maintained, although with a more accessible
current language, however, the figurative (or
geometric) representation of “The Elements”
gave way to the algebraic representation in the
present day. In the current textbook analyzed,
the figural representation is highlighted only in
the introduction to the theme. It is concluded
that the concomitant and intensive use of the
registers of representation in natural, geometric
and algebraic language, favors the learning related to the remarkable products, contributing to the reduction of the difficulties
inherent to the theme
