RELEVÂNCIA E ATUAÇÃO DA FISIOTERAPIA EM UNIDADE HOSPITALAR DE URGÊNCIA E EMERGÊNCIA
A integração do fisioterapeuta na unidade de urgência e emergência junto à equipe multiprofissional promove um tratamento clínico mais integral aos pacientes. O presente estudo foi descrever a atuação do fisioterapeuta em pacientes politraumatizados de uma unidade de urgência e emergência e apresentar características clínicas e demográficas dos clientes atendidos. Estudo retrospectivo, quantitativo e descritivo, que analisou prontuários dos pacientes admitidos na unidade de pronto atendimento de um hospital de referência que possui o profissional fisioterapeuta no setor. Os resultados demonstram a maioria dos participantes do sexo masculino (90,6%), com idade entre 18 a 27 anos (25%), sendo procedentes de Campo Grande/MS (68,8%). A principal causa de internação encontrada foi por acidente de trânsito (53,1%) e a principal lesão o traumatismo crânio encefálico (n=30), com permanência na unidade de urgência e emergência cerca de um dia (71,9%). Entre os procedimentos fisioterapêuticos mais realizados destaca-se manejo da ventilação mecânica invasiva (n=29) e o principal desfecho foi a transferência para Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (81,2%). Evidencia-se de primordial importância a atuação do fisioterapeuta e sua salutar contribuição na atenção aos pacientes politraumatizados junto à equipe multiprofissional em uma unidade de urgência e emergência.

Abstract:
The integration of the physiotherapist in the urgency and emergency unit with the multidisciplinary team promotes a more comprehensive clinical treatment for patients. The present study was to describe the role of the physiotherapist in polytrauma patients in an urgency and emergency unit and to present clinical and demographic characteristics of the clients attended. Retrospective, quantitative and descriptive study, which analyzed medical records of patients admitted to the emergency care unit of a referral hospital that has the professional physiotherapist in the sector. The results show the majority of male participants (90.6%), aged between 18 and 27 years (25%), coming from Campo Grande / MS (68.8%). The main cause of hospitalization found was a traffic accident (53.1%) and the main injury was traumatic brain injury (n = 30), with a stay in the urgency and emergency unit for about a day (71.9%). Among the most performed physical therapy procedures, invasive mechanical ventilation management stands out (n = 29) and the main outcome was the transfer to the Intensive Care Unit (81.2%). The role of the physiotherapist and his healthy contribution in the care of polytrauma patients together with the multidisciplinary team in an urgency and emergency unit is of paramount importance.
