Relación longitud-peso multianual del Bocachico Prochilodus magdalenae en la cuenca del río San Jorge, Colombia
Se evaluó el crecimiento y condición multianual del Bocachico Prochilodus magdalenae (STEINDACHNER, 1878) en la cuenca del río San Jorge, Colombia, como contribución al conocimiento de su historia de vida, ordenamiento pesquero y conservación en su ambiente natural. Se recolectaron 5556 ejemplares entre los años 2006 y 2010. La relación longitud-peso y el factor de condición se estimaron con WT =k LTb y k =WT/LTb, respectivamente. Las tallas oscilaron entre 21.9-57.8 (31.3 ± 3.8) cm de longitud total (LT), los pesos totales entre 125.0 y 3458.0 (409.0 ± 211.2) gramos y la talla media de captura estimada fue 31.4 cm LT. La relación longitud-peso estimada para sexos combinados en el período 2006-2010 fue WT =0.003 (± 0.03) LT 3.42 (± 0.02), r =0.95, n =5556, coeficiente de crecimiento alométrico positivo, el cual fluctuó entre 2.98 (año 2007) y 3.38 (año 2008), con diferencias estadísticas significativas entre ellos; mientras que el factor de condición osciló entre 0.003 (año 2008) y 0.012 (año 2007), sin encontrarse diferencias estadísticas significativas entre ellos. La información evaluada sugiere que el Bocachico es un pez de mediano tamaño, cuyo estado de bienestar ha sido alternante año tras año y cuyo valor alcanzado en el periodo en estudio es mucho menor que el bienestar reportado para varias poblaciones del género Prochilodus en América del Sur.

Abstract:
The growth and multi-year condition of the Bocachico Prochilodus magdalenae (STEINDACHNER, 1878) in the San Jorge river basin, Colombia, as a contribution to the knowledge of its life story, fishing management and conservation in its natural environment, was evaluated. 5556 specimens were collected between 2006 and 2010 years. The length-weight relationship and condition factor were estimated with the equation TW = a TLb and k =TW/TLb, respectively. The size ranged between 21.9-57.8 (31.3 ± 3.8) cm TL and the total weight between 125.0-3458.0 (409.0 ± 211.2) grams, and the mean length in the catch estimated was 31.4 cm TL. Length-weight relationship estimated for both sexes in the period 2006-2010 was TW =0.003 (± 0.03) LT 3.42 (± 0.02), r =0.95, n =5556, with positive allometric growth coefficient, which ranged between 2.98 (2007 year) and 3.38 (2008 year), with significant statistical differences; while the condition factor ranged from 0.003 (2008 year) and 0.012 (2007 year), without statistically significant differences. The information evaluated suggests that the Bocachico is a medium-sized fish, whose welfare state has been alternating year by year and whose value reached in the period under study is lower than the welfare reported for several populations of the genus Prochilodus in South America.
