REFLEXÕES E POSSIBILIDADES ACERCA DA GESTÃO DO PATRIMÔNIO ARQUEOLÓGICO NO CONTEXTO DE UM ARRAIAL DE MINERAÇÃO DO SÉCULO XVIII
Este trabalho pretende discutir a
respeito da necessidade de estabelecimento
de estratégias de valoração que reflitam sobre
o processo de guarda do patrimônio cultural,
manifestado sob a forma de testemunhos
materiais e imateriais identificados no âmbito
de estudos desenvolvidos no sítio arqueológico
Arraial de São Francisco Xavier da Chapada,
associado ao contexto de mineração colonial
observado na região do vale do Guaporé, no
Estado do Mato Grosso. O ponto de partida desta
reflexão busca discutir acerca da relevância que
estudos de arqueologia preventiva apresentam
na preservação do patrimônio arqueológico,
levando em consideração que essa vertente
da disciplina está diretamente relacionada ao
crescimento exponencial de pesquisas no bojo
do licenciamento ambiental ao longo da última
década em nosso país. O presente ensaio
tem como base premissas concernentes à
discussão voltada à gestão do Arraial, tombado
em esfera estadual, dando ênfase ao programa
de pesquisa que vem sendo desenvolvido
junto ao sítio arqueológico há mais de duas
décadas, e a possíveis futuras ações voltadas
à sua preservação. Desta forma, tencionase demonstrar que é possível a prática de
uma arqueologia preventiva que proponha
reflexões críticas sobre o papel da arqueologia
como ferramenta que permita demonstrar
a importância do patrimônio arqueológico,
buscando harmonizar os interesses da disciplina
com os interesses da sociedade, inserindo a
prática arqueológica dentro das necessidades e
expectativas das comunidades, a fim de garantir
a defesa e preservação do patrimônio.

Abstract:
This reflection intends to discuss
about the need to establish valuation strategies
that reflect on the process of preservation of
cultural heritage, manifested in the form of
material and immaterial testimonies identified
in the scope of studies developed at the
archaeological site Arraial de São Francisco
Xavier da Chapada, associated to the colonial
mining context observed in the region of the
Guaporé valley, in the State of Mato Grosso.
The starting point of this reflection is to discuss
the relevance of preventive archeology studies
concerned with the preservation of archaeological
heritage, taking into account that this discipline
is directly related to the exponential growth of
researches carried out within the scope of environmental licensing over the last decade
in our country. This essay is based on assumptions concerning the discussion about
the Arraial management, which is an archaeological site protected by state laws that
ensure its long-term preservation, with emphasis on the research program that has
been developed at the archaeological site for more than two decades, and possible
future actions aimed at its preservation. In this way, it is intended to demonstrate that
it is possible to practice preventive archeology based on strict criteria, which proposes
critical reflections on the role of archaeology as a tool for demonstrating the importance
of archaeological heritage, seeking to harmonize the interests of the discipline with
the interests of society, inserting the archaeological practice within the needs and
expectations of the communities, in order to guarantee the defense and preservation
of their heritage.
