Abstract: This work is an Experience Report, which aims to highlight teaching strategies used in pedagogical practices for preventing adolescent obesity. This report originates from the report of an intervention project developed in the "Physical Education and Health at School" curricular component and was prepared by the students under the guidance of the course instructor. The study population included adolescents from a public high school in the city of Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará, aged 15 to 18. All experiences were recorded in writing, addressing all the details perceived during the meetings and the effects of the methodologies used in learning the content. In total, there were six meetings, whose themes were: Healthy Lifestyles; Physical Activity and Health; Healthy Eating; Educational comic book on obesity prevention; Group dynamics around the topics discussed; and a Closing and Evaluation of the practices. Active methodologies were used through expository and dialogic classes, in addition to feedback dynamics using games and activities. The results demonstrated improved learning outcomes, as students engaged, participated, and deconstructed distorted ideas about nutrition. They also learned the importance of a more active lifestyle through physical activity, adopting healthier habits for their daily lives to prevent obesity and improve their quality of life. Based on the information presented, we recognize the importance of highlighting the possibilities of facilitating and effective teaching approaches to addressing obesity among adolescents. Promoting practices and guidance that elucidate the aspects of obesity can help promote health and quality of life among adolescents, aiming to re-educate them in important lifestyle aspects.
