PUBLIC HEALTH MANAGEMENT: A PHYSIOTHERAPY PERSPECTIVE
Health management overcomes
social or economic issues and resurges as a
union of knowledge acquired in the daily life
of health workers, so that the collaboration of
the physiotherapist not only covers repairing
nature, but also collaborates in functional health
and quality of life with preventive actions.
This study aimed to present the main findings
of the literature and to discuss public health
management, its applicability, goals and deficits,
especially regarding the physiotherapy service
in government programs, such as the Family
Health Program. The study is characterized as
a bibliographical review and for its elaboration a
survey was carried out in the scientific base of
electronic data, the indexers used were: “Health
Management”, “Unified Health System (SUS)”,
“Family Health Program “And” Physiotherapy
“. Through retrospective review of the literature
the results demonstrate discrepant values for
each descriptor. The values were presented
in a way that, with the first index, “Health
Management”, 751 papers were found at the
Lilacs Base, among which articles, monographs,
dissertations and book reviews were excluded.
From the association of the second single term,
“Unified Health System”, there was a regression
for 116 articles and, subsequently, with the
other indexers, the database did not accuse the
presence of studies. From these surveys, we
found a panorama that evidenced the scarcity in
the current and previous literature, concerning
the indexers already mentioned, allowing us to
suggest the increase of researches and debates
on the subject and making possible the improvement in the public health service.
