PROMOÇÃO DA SAÚDE BUCAL ENTRE CRIANÇAS COM NECESSIDADES ESPECIAIS DE PIRACICABA – SP
A saúde bucal é parte integrante da saúde geral das crianças. A Odontologia é responsável pela prevenção de problemas que acometem o aparelho estomatognático, minimizando os riscos e promovendo a saúde. O Programa Educativo Preventivo em Saúde Bucal da Faculdade de Odontologia de Piracicaba (FOP) - UNICAMP estimula a mudança de cultura de crianças e adultos de Piracicaba na valorização dos dentes e da saúde bucal, contribuindo, assim, para a conscientização de forma geral. O objetivo deste trabalho é relatar a experiência de estudantes de graduação de Odontologia em ação social, integrando as crianças com necessidades especiais junto aos conceitos de higiene e hábitos bucais. Para realização do projeto Quartel Aberto ao Público (QAP) da Polícia Militar do Estado de São Paulo, é necessário o apoio de diversos parceiros, sendo o Programa Educativo Preventivo em Saúde Bucal da FOP/UNICAMP, parceiro desde a primeira edição em 2010. As atividades desenvolvidas pelos estudantes são ações educativas preventivas em higiene e hábitos bucais com as crianças das entidades participantes, bem como, atividades lúdicas, brincadeiras e demonstrações em mesas clínicas proporcionando um dia diferente e especial para as crianças presentes, onde elas dançam, brincam, pulam, pintam o rosto, comem, andam a cavalo, assistem a show de mágica e a outras apresentações recebendo muita informação, de modo que, essas crianças que serão o futuro da sociedade sejam cada vez mais motivadas as práticas de cuidado com a saúde bucal. O evento anualmente conta com a participação de cerca de mil pessoas, compreendendo crianças com necessidades especiais e acompanhantes, colaboradores de diferentes entidades públicas e privadas no hangar do Águia; promovendo ações sociais voltadas para as condições de saúde bucal da população. A parceria visa estreitar o relacionamento da polícia militar com a sociedade, aumentando a responsabilidade social de todos com a formação e orientação das crianças. Os resultados alcançados da experiência ao estudante na ação social são: motivação e experiência física com a prática de ensino e orientação de saúde pública, promovendo a saúde bucal aos presentes; sensibilização para as necessidades do público e local em questão; na capacidade de transformar o conhecimento técnico-científico em linguagem simples para o contato com a população; a fim de promoção da saúde bucal.

Abstract:
Oral health is an integral part of children's overall health. Dentistry is responsible for preventing problems that affect the stomatognathic system, minimizing risks and promoting health. The Preventive Educational Program in Oral Health at the Piracicaba Dental School - UNICAMP encourages a change in the culture of children and adults in Piracicaba in valuing teeth and oral health, thus contributing to general awareness. The objective of this work is to report the experience of undergraduate Dentistry students in social action, integrating children with special needs with the concepts of hygiene and oral habits. In order to carry out the project “Barracks Open to the Public” of the Military Police of the State of São Paulo, the support of several partners is necessary, with the Preventive Educational Program in Oral Health from UNICAMP, a partner since the first edition in 2010. As activities developed by the students are preventive educational actions in hygiene and oral habits with the children of the participating entities, as well as playful activities, games and demonstrations on clinical tables providing a different and special day for the children present, where they dance, play, jump, paint their faces, eat, horseback riding, watch magic shows and other presentations, receiving a lot of information, so that these children who will be the future of society are increasingly motivated to practice oral health care. The event annually has the participation of about a thousand people, including children with special needs and companions, contributors of different public and private entities in the airplane hangar; promoting social actions aimed at the population's oral health conditions. The partnership aims to strengthen the relationship between the military police and society, increasing everyone's social responsibility with the training and guidance of children. The results achieved from the student experience in social action are motivation and physical experience with teaching practice and public health guidance, promoting oral health for those present; awareness of the needs of the public and place concerned; in the ability to transform technical-scientific knowledge into simple language for contact with the population; in order to promote oral health.
