PROJETO BUMBA MEU BAJA: UTILIZAÇÃO DA METODOLOGIA PROJECT MODEL CANVAS COMO PROPOSTA DE MELHORIA PARA A CONSTRUÇÃO DO CARRO DE COMPETIÇÃO SAE BRASIL
O Projeto Baja SAE Brasil trata
de uma competição para elaboração e
construção de um veículo off road, realizada
pelos estudantes de engenharia, atendendo os
critérios estabelecidos de configuração física
e performance. O veículo tem por objetivo ser
trafegável, seguro, facilmente transportado, de
simples manutenção e baixo custo. O Projeto
Baja é uma competição que envolve diversas
faculdades do mundo. A competição é realizada
entre equipes formadas por estudantes e um
professor orientador. E o evento foi criado na
Universidade da Carolina do Sul, Estados
Unidos, em 1976. A Universidade Estadual
do Maranhão, desde o ano 2000, participa da
competição com a equipe bumba meu baja
envolvendo estudantes de engenharia mecânica
e engenharia de produção. O presente estudo
tem por objetivo a utilização da ferramenta
Project Model Canvas para colaborar no
gerenciamento de forma prática, dinâmica
e visual na construção do protótipo Baja. A
metodologia utilizada foi exploratória com o
uso da ferramenta Canvas para análise dos
aspectos do projeto e permitindo uma melhor
visualização e tangibilidade no gerenciamento
do projeto com vista na melhoria contínua do
produto. E como resultados foram evidenciados
melhorias e redução de custo no projeto baja de
forma simples e eficiente.

Abstract:
The Baja SAE Brazil Project
deals with a competition for the elaboration
and construction of an off road vehicle,
performed by engineering students, meeting
the established criteria of physical configuration
and performance. The vehicle is intended to
be portable, safe, easily transported, simple
maintenance and low cost. The Baja Project is a
competition that involves several colleges of the
world. The competition is conducted between
teams consisting of students and a mentor teacher. And the event was created at the
University of South Carolina, United States, in 1976. The State University of Maranhão
since 2000 participates in the competition with the team bumba my baja involving
students of mechanical engineering and production engineering. The present study aims
to use the Project Model Canvas tool to collaborate in the management of a practical,
dynamic and visual way in the construction of the Baja prototype. The methodology
used was exploratory with the use of the Canvas tool to analyze the aspects of the
project and allowing a better visualization and tangibility in the management of the
project with a view to the continuous improvement of the product. And as results were
evidenced improvements and cost reduction in low design in a simple and efficient way.
