PRODUÇÃO ORGÂNICA DE ALIMENTOS COMO ALTERNATIVA PARA A AGRICULTURA FAMILIAR
O trabalho analisou os níveis de desenvolvimento de um agricultor familiar que pratica fruticultura orgânica no município de Santa Rosa, RS. Foram realizadas duas entrevistas semiestruturadas, em períodos distintos do ano. Obtiveram-se as informações necessárias para realizar a avaliação técnica e socioeconômica, com a determinação do nível de reprodução social. A unidade de produção possui uma superfície de área de dez hectares, sendo seis hectares de área útil. São cultivados um hectare de laranja e um hectare de bergamota sob a forma orgânica e quatro hectares são utilizados para a subsistência. A unidade de produção consegue obter uma renda agrícola média para cada unidade de trabalho de R$ 19.651,10 por ano, superior ao nível de reprodução social estimado em de R$ 11.440,00. Portanto, a fruticultura orgânica apresenta-se como possibilidade de viabilizar agricultores familiares com restrições de áreas de cultivo, com a produção de alimentos saudáveis e sustentáveis.

Abstract:
The work analyzed the development levels of a family farmer who practices organic fruit growing in the municipality of Santa Rosa, RS. Two semi-structured interviews were carried out at different times of the year. The necessary information was obtained to carry out the technical and socioeconomic evaluation, with the determination of the level of social reproduction. The production unit has an area of ten hectares, with six hectares of usable area. One hectare of orange and one hectare of bergamot are grown in organic form and four hectares are used for subsistence. The production unit manages to obtain an average agricultural income for each work unit of R$ 19,651.10 per year, higher than the level of social reproduction estimated at R$ 11,440.00. Therefore, organic fruit production presents itself as a possibility to enable family farmers with restrictions on cultivation areas, with the production of healthy and sustainable food.
