Abstract: Tracheal collapse is a respiratory pathology that affects the trachea, the main tube that carries air to the lungs. This condition is common in clinical medicine for the respiratory system of small animals. The clinical signs of this disease are persistent cough, which can be productive or non-productive, dyspnea, cyanosis, respiratory sounds, easy fatigue, among others. The degree of tracheal collapse is important in determining the treatment and prognosis of the patient. The definitive diagnosis is based on complementary x-ray and tracheoscopy exams, which are very efficient. This chapter aims to describe a case report of tracheal collapse in a canine animal, describing the follow-up from the initial clinical stages of the case to treatment. The animal is a canine species, female, of the Yorkshire breed, almost eight years old and weighing 3.2 kg, which was treated showing signs of a persistent chronic cough and slight difficulty breathing. A clinical evaluation was carried out and additional tests were requested, which confirmed tracheal collapse in almost 50% of the tracheal lumen close to the thoracic region. Medicinal and palliative treatment was prescribed and follow-up was possible.
