PERFIL DE LAS MADRES RURALES DEL CARSO HUASTECO HIDALGUENSE EN RELACIÓN AL TIPO Y DURACIÓN DE LA LACTANCIA
La alimentación durante los primeros 1000 días de vida son fundamentales para la salud futura; sin embargo, esta etapa puede complicarse por factores como la ocupación de la madre, edad, estado civil, escolaridad, contexto social y económico, así como el momento en el cual decidió el tipo de lactancia. Objetivo: Analizar el perfil de madres de comunidades del carso huasteco hidalguense y su relación con el tipo y duración de lactancia. Metodología: 56 entrevistas semiestructuradas con madres menores de dos años en tres localidades con distinto grado de marginación, 7 entrevistas con informantes clave. Procesamiento de la información con SPSS y matriz de datos. Resultados: No hubo dependencia estadística entre las variables de edad, ocupación, escolaridad, estado civil, pero sí con el contexto social y económico (grado de marginación) y el momento en el cual las madres decidieron el tipo de lactancia. La localidad con alta marginación reporta el mayor porcentaje (89.5%) de lactancia materna exclusiva. Conclusiones: El grado de marginación se relaciona con en el tipo de lactancia elegido por madres del carso huasteco hidalguense. Podrían estar influenciadas además por aspectos culturales y sociales, acceso a los alimentos e información de los medios de comunicación y personal de salud.

Abstract:
Feeding during the first 1000 days of life are essential for future health; However, this stage can be complicated by factors such as the mother's occupation, age, marital status, schooling, social and economic context, as well as the moment in which she decided on the type of breastfeeding. Objective: To analyze the profile of mothers of karst huasteco Hidalgo communities and their relationship with the type and duration of lactation. Methodology: 56 semi-structured interviews with mothers under two years in three locations with different degrees of marginalization, 7 interviews with key informants. Processing of information with SPSS and data matrix. Results: There was no statistical dependence between the variables of age, occupation, schooling, marital status, but with the social and economic context (degree of marginalization) and the moment in which the mothers decided on the type of breastfeeding. The locality with high marginalization reports the highest percentage (89.5%) of exclusive breastfeeding. Conclusions: The degree of marginalization is related to the type of lactation chosen by Caro Huasteco Hidalgo mothers. They could also be influenced by cultural and social aspects, access to food and information from the media and health personnel.
