PERCEPÇÕES DOS ACADÊMICOS DE ENFERMAGEM SOBRE GÊNERO
O presente estudo discute alguns
atravessamentos de gênero na escolha, na
formação e exercício profissional de homens
enfermeiros. Objetivou identificar a perspectiva
de gênero presente na formação e práticas de
enfermagem a partir de relatos dos discentes.
Como objetivos específicos investigar os
fatores que levam os homens a escolher a
enfermagem como profissão, e conhecer as
facilidades e dificuldades de ser homem no
contexto de uma profissão predominantemente
feminina. Trata se de uma pesquisa documental,
descritiva de abordagem qualitativa. A coleta de
dados foi realizada através de grupo focal na
Faculdade de Enfermagem Nova Esperança de
Mossoró, com 16 alunos do gênero masculino,
da graduação em enfermagem, do 1° até o 8°
período. Utilizou-se como critérios de inclusão
está regulamente matriculado no curso de
enfermagem, ser do sexo masculino, ter mais
de 18 anos. Os critérios de exclusão foram
subsidiados pelo critério de inclusão. Os
resultados do estudo salientam a escolha da
enfermagem pelo amor e vocação em exercer
a profissão. Além de demonstrar a realidade
dispare da atuação na profissão em que alguns
exaltam as facilidades de inserção e outros referem preconceito e dificuldades. Por
fim, friza-se a necessidade de incluir a disciplina de gênero na grade curricular do
curso estudado e a abertura de espaços para discussão sobre a temática.

Abstract:
The present study discusses some gender crossings in the choice,
training and professional practice of male nurses. The objective was to identify the
gender perspective present in nursing training and practices based on students’
reports. As specific objectives investigate the factors that lead men to choose nursing
as a profession, and to know the facilities and difficulties of being a man in the context
of a predominantly female profession. This is a documentary research, descriptive of
a qualitative approach. Data collection was performed through a focus group at the
Nova Esperança Nursing College of Mossoró, with 16 male students, from the 1st to
the 8th grade. It was used as inclusion criteria and is regularly enrolled in the nursing
course, being male, being over 18 years old. Exclusion criteria were subsidized by
inclusion criteria. The results of the study emphasize the choice of nursing for the love
and vocation in exercising the profession. In addition to demonstrating the reality of the
action in the profession in which some exalt the facilities of insertion and others refer
to prejudice and difficulties. Finally, the need to include the gender discipline in the
curricular curriculum of the studied course and the opening of spaces for discussion on
the subject is stressed.
