Abstract: This research is titled: "High school teachers' perceptions of the use of artificial intelligence as an educational tool." Its objective is to analyze high school teachers' perceptions of the use of artificial intelligence as an educational tool. This study uses a quantitative approach and is descriptive, focusing on detailing the assessments, benefits, limitations, and challenges that teachers identify regarding the use of artificial intelligence in their teaching practices. The study population consisted of teachers from the Ecuadorian teaching profession and teaching students from different universities. The sample consisted of 150 teachers and 100 students. A statistical analysis based on frequency tables and percentages was conducted. The final conclusion was that high school teachers show limited knowledge of AI, which influences divided perceptions about its benefits and challenges. Although they recognize its pedagogical potential, concerns persist about dependency and a lack of clear policies. Attitudes toward integration directly depend on digital competence and confidence, which is why institutional training and support are required.
