PERCEPÇÃO DOS TUTORES DE CÃES E GATOS ATENDIDOS NO SETOR DE CIRURGIA DO HOVET-UFRA SOBRE CONTROLE POPULACIONAL DE ANIMAIS
Este trabalho teve como objetivo identificar a percepção dos tutores de cães e gatos que utilizam o serviço de clínica cirúrgica do HOVET-UFRA sobre controle populacional de animais domésticos. Para isso, foram aplicados questionários semiestruturados para 50 tutores que levaram seu animal doméstico para algum procedimento cirúrgico no setor. Foi observado que a maioria dos entrevistados pertenceu ao sexo feminino, com idade média de 30 anos, casadas, com ensino superior completo, com a maioria trabalhando no funcionalismo público e com renda média de R$5.000,00. Muitos utilizaram anticoncepcional em seu animal, porém, são a favor da castração e acreditam que esse procedimento pode trazer benefícios para o animal.

Abstract:
The aim of this study was to identify the perception of tutors of dogs and cats that use the HOVET-UFRA surgical clinic on population control of domestic animals. For this, semi-structured questionnaires were applied to 50 tutors who took their pet to some surgical procedure in the sector. It was observed that the majority of the interviewees belonged to the female sex, with an average age of 30 years, married, with complete higher education, with the majority working in the public service and with an average income of R $ 5,000.00. Many have used contraception in their animal, however, they are in favor of castration and believe that this procedure can bring benefits to the animal.
