PERCEPÇÃO DOS PROFESSORES DO CURSO DE MEDICINA VETERINÁRIA DA ESTÁCIO QUANTO À UTILIZAÇÃO DO FACEBOOK COMO FERRAMENTA AUXILIAR NO PROCESSO ENSINO-APRENDIZAGEM EM UM CURSO NA MODALIDADE PRESENCIAL
As redes sociais, em especial o
Facebook, tem assumido um importante papel
na vida das pessoas. Uma vez incorporado ao
ambiente escolar tem se demonstrado uma
boa ferramenta auxiliar no processo de ensinoaprendizagem, constituindo um Ambiente
Virtual de Aprendizagem (AVA) que atende
tanto à modalidade de ensino à distância como
presencial. Uma vez que vai de encontro aos
anseios dos alunos, cada vez mais conectados,
e permite a interatividade entre eles, professores
e outros sujeitos, os conhecimentos são
construídos de forma colaborativa. Este trabalho
tem como objetivo avaliar a percepção dos
professores do curso de Medicina Veterinária
da Estácio quanto ao uso do Facebook na
sua prática docente e a possibilidade de
enriquecer a formação dos alunos através
do seu uso como AVA, mesmo sendo este
um curso presencial. Os 34 professores que
participaram da pesquisa responderam se veem
o Facebook como um recurso educacional,
se utilizam desta forma, se conhecem as
suas funcionalidades para este fim e se tem
interesse em utilizar. Verificou-se que a maioria
dos professores entendem que o Facebook
pode ser utilizado desta forma, embora poucos
o utilizam. Constatou-se também que a maioria
desconhece as suas funcionalidades, mas tem
interesse em conhece-las e incorporar esta
rede social à sua prática docente. Sendo assim,
ficou demonstrado que é possível, através da
incorporação do Facebook às metodologias de
ensino do curso, utiliza-lo como Ambiente Virtual
de Aprendizagem, contribuindo para o processo
de ensino-aprendizagem e o desenvolvimento
das habilidades e competências por parte dos
alunos.

Abstract:
Social networks, especially
Facebook, have assumed an important role in
people’s lives. Once incorporated into the school
environment, a good auxiliary tool in the teachinglearning process has been demonstrated,
constituting a Virtual Learning Environment that
attends to both the distance and face-to-face
teaching modality. Once it meets the wishes of
the students, increasingly connected, and allows
interactivity between them, teachers and other
subjects, the knowledge is built collaboratively.
This study aims to evaluate the perception of the
teachers of the course of Veterinary Medicine of
Estácio regarding the use of Facebook in their
teaching practice and the possibility of enriching
the training of students through its use as AVA,
even though this is a face-to-face course. The
34 teachers who participated in the survey responded if they see Facebook as an
educational resource, if they use it this way, if they know their features for this purpose
and if they are interested in using it. It has been found that most teachers understand
that Facebook can be used in this way, although few use it. It was also verified that most
are unaware of its functionalities, but are interested in knowing them and incorporating
this social network into their teaching practice. Therefore, it has been demonstrated
that it is possible, through the incorporation of Facebook to the teaching methodologies
of the course, to use it as Virtual Learning Environment, contributing to the teachinglearning process and the development of skills and competences by the students.
