Abstract: The article aims to carry out an analysis of public-private partnerships (PPP) in Brazil in the area of water supply and sanitation. This is a descriptive study, an integrative and critical bibliographic review type, presenting data on PPPs in Brazil. After evaluating the revised PPP, it was possible to verify difficulties in meeting the goals of universal access to services for households, due, among other factors, to the focus of the providers' activities on profitable areas. Also, the promised improvement and advancement in service provision was not observed. The importance of the theme highlights the need for primary database studies, with an economic-financial approach and in the field of human rights, aiming to expand the empirical evidence presented in the revised study.
