Abstract: Sepsis is a serious complication characterized by a dysregulated inflammatory response to infections. Globally, an estimated 49 million cases and 11 million deaths occur annually, while in Brazil the mortality rate exceeds 50%. Given this scenario, the aim of this study was to analyze the evolution of hospitalizations, deaths, and mortality due to sepsis in Brazil between 2015 and 2025. This is a descriptive study based on SIH/SUS data made available by DATASUS. Information on hospitalizations and deaths from sepsis during the period from 2015 to 2025 was collected. Statistical analysis and the calculation of the mortality rate were carried out using Microsoft Excel 2024. The results revealed a progressive increase in hospitalizations, from 110,064 (2015) to 185,952 (2024), with a decrease in 2025. Deaths followed a similar pattern. The mortality rate ranged from 44.24% to 46.41%. Higher lethality was observed in the Southeast and Northeast regions. It is concluded that sepsis remains an important public health problem in Brazil, with a growing trend in cases, high mortality, and significant regional disparities, reinforcing the urgency of integrated for prevention.
