Abstract: As an English instructor at the State University of Amazonas, Parintins campus, I have been developing my Teaching Institutional Project, whose title is “Listening and Learning: Learning Narratives by undergraduate students in Languages and Literatures in English from CESP/UEA”. In this project, I seek to learn about the learning stories by undergraduates from the class of 2023, which started at UEA as a special class, as the course is not part of the university's regular courses. After describing the project, I present the locus of the research, contextualizing the investigation and discussing some challenges that are part of local English teaching and that may be discussed in the future with the project participants.
