Abstract: The general objective of this study was to describe the psychologist's role in dealing with the aging population and the emotional impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic. The study is an integrative review, in which the search for data occurred in the databases of the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS) and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO). The health descriptors used were: elderly, psychologist, mental health and Covid-19. The inclusion criteria of the study were: articles in Portuguese language and English language, from 2016 to 2021, and that address the theme proposed by the study. The exclusion criteria consisted of incompleted, duplicated studies, prior to the year 2016, and that are not in accordance with the theme established in this research. After applying the filters and reading the titles, keywords, and abstracts, duplicate publications and those that did not match the inclusion criteria were excluded, totaling 16 scientific articles. Thus, for the final stage, 12 articles were analyzed, which are in accordance with the objectives set out in this study, treating and interpreting the information, systematizing and categorizing it through Bardin's analysis. However, in the pandemic context psychologists had to create new interventional means to work with the elderly, due to the contamination and dissemination of the virus it was necessary to be careful and distance themselves from the patients, which limited the psychologist's work with group activities or even in-person appointments.
