Abstract: This article is the result of Scientific Initiation research – IC, with support from the Mato Grosso Research Support Foundation – FAPEMAT, together with the Scientific, Technological and Citizenship Education Research Group – ECTeC, being an excerpt from the research project entitled “Study of the impact of artificial intelligence on academic performance” at the State University of Mato Grosso – Unemat, Sinop campuses. We seek to present an analysis of the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on education, focusing on the teaching perspective. The research is characterized by being qualitative, characterizing itself as a case study, as a data collection tool an online questionnaire was used via Google forms which included the participation of twenty-five (25) teachers from Unemat, Sinop campus which voluntarily collaborated with the research. The results indicate that AI is gradually gaining ground in the academic training process, although it is not yet a consolidated practice, teachers understand the growth of the area of artificial intelligence, its contributions to the construction of knowledge, but, however, they are still cautious regarding its implementation in their pedagogical practices, as it is a new and innovative technological resource.
