Abstract: This study analyzes the challenges and prospects of the Mozambique Stock Exchange (BVM) in the context of the international financial market. Mozambique's capital market, still in its developmental phase, faces obstacles such as low liquidity, a limited number of listed companies, and a lack of diversification in financial products. The study identifies three main areas of intervention: digitalization, development of new financial products, and government support. According to Mendes (2020), digitalization offers opportunities to reduce transaction costs and increase transparency, attracting small investors and enhancing liquidity. Regarding the development of new financial products, the creation of corporate bonds and diversified investment funds is highlighted by Araújo (2016) as an effective strategy to boost participation in the capital market, attracting both domestic and international investors. Additionally, the role of the government is emphasized by Barros (2015), who underscores the need for public policies that encourage company listings, create tax incentives, and implement structural reforms to improve the regulatory environment and strengthen corporate governance. The study concludes that BVM needs to implement strategies that include adopting financial technologies, developing new products, and strengthening public policies to establish itself as a relevant player on the global stage. Recommendations are proposed to promote the sustainability and growth of the stock exchange, contributing to the country's economic development.
