Este artigo é produto de uma

pesquisa que teve como escopo central

investigar e analisar os atuais critérios de

classificação do porte das empresas, e se

esses atuais critérios causam algum prejuízo

no desenvolvimento dessas empresas. A

pesquisa quanto aos objetivos é de caráter

exploratório, que abrange revisão bibliográfica

e documental, com aplicação de entrevistas

em profundidade. Os resultados da pesquisa

evidenciaram a necessidade de padronização

dos critérios que definem o porte das empresas

e que essa ausência de homogeneidade tem

prejudicado no desenvolvimento das pequenas

e médias empresas.

Abstract:
This article is the product of

a research that had as its central scope to

investigate and analyze the current criteria for

classification of the size of the company, and if

these current criteria cause some injury in the

development of these companies. The research

about the objectives is exploratory, which

covers literature review and documentary, with

application of in-depth interviews. The research

results showed the need for standardization

of criteria that define the size of the company

and that this lack of homogeneity has caused

difficulties in the development of small and

medium-sized enterprises.
