Abstract: This study conducts a systematic review of postoperative interventions in elderly patients, focusing on methods that enhance pain relief and functional recovery. We evaluated various techniques, including wrist-ankle acupuncture, erector spinae plane blocks, and the combined use of tranexamic acid and dexamethasone in knee arthroplasty. Additionally, we investigated the impact of anesthesia type on the incidence of postoperative delirium and functional recovery in patients with and without prior cognitive impairment. Lastly, we explored the role of inhaled ciclesonide in hospitalized COVID-19 patients. The results underscore the importance of personalized approaches in the postoperative management of geriatric patients.
