Abstract: This chapter presents a report on the experience developed during the itinerant workshop on rock art conservation held at the Instituto Federal do Maranhão (IFMA), as part of the 20th National Week of Science and Technology (SNCT). The initiative focused on the conservation of Brazilian archaeological heritage. The activity was structured into theoretical and practical phases, providing participants with integrated training in preservation techniques and the use of specialized technologies, such as portable X-ray fluorescence and digital microscopy, combined with adapted pedagogical approaches. The results highlight the potential of a methodology based on active experimentation to foster critical understanding of degradation processes and to promote the appreciation of cultural heritage, even in contexts without officially registered archaeological sites.
