OCORRÊNCIA DE PARALISIA FACIAL PERIFÉRICA E CONDIÇÕES CLIMÁTICAS NA CIDADE DE PRESIDENTE PRUDENTE/SP: ANÁLISE DE CASOS ATENDIDOS EM UMA CLÍNICA/ESCOLA NO PERÍODO DE 2012 A 2014
Este trabalho teve como objetivos
traçar o clima urbano da cidade de Presidente
Prudente (Estado de São Paulo, Brasil), com
ênfase na temperatura do ar; avaliar os casos
de ocorrência de paralisia facial periférica (PFP),
encaminhados para reabilitação no Centro de
Estudos e de Atendimentos em Fisioterapia
e Reabilitação (CEAFIR), da Faculdade de
Ciências e Tecnologia da UNESP – Campus
de Presidente Prudente, nas diversas épocas
do ano, ao longo do período de 2012 a 2014;
comparar a incidência da PFP em relação às
épocas do ano em que ocorreu a patologia;
e comparar a incidência da PFP em relação
à temperatura do ar nas diversas épocas do
ano. A cidade de Presidente Prudente está
situada no oeste do Estado de São Paulo,
entre os paralelos de 22º07’ de latitude sul e
51º23’ de longitude oeste, com área urbana de
aproximadamente 60km² e população estimada
de 218.960 habitantes. Foi realizado o recorte
espacial (pacientes residentes na cidade de
Presidente Prudente) e o recorte temporal
(entre 2012-2014), sendo que este período
foi escolhido em decorrência do aumento
considerável de procura por atendimento
fisioterapêutico motivado por uma divulgação
nos meios de comunicação da cidade de
Presidente Prudente e região. Foram atendidos
26 pacientes com encaminhamento médico,
sendo 18 mulheres e 8 homens. Os dados
climáticos de temperatura do ar, nos diferentes
períodos do ano, entre 2012 e 2014, foram
levantados de acordo com os disponibilizados
na Estação Meteorológica da FCT/UNESP –
Campus de Presidente Prudente.

Abstract:
The objective of this study was to map the urban climate of the city of
Presidente Prudente (State of São Paulo, Brazil), with emphasis on air temperature; to
evaluate the occurrence of peripheral facial paralysis (PFP), referred to rehabilitation at
the Center for Studies and Assistance in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (CEAFIR),
Faculty of Sciences and Technology of UNESP - Presidente Prudente Campus, at
different times of the year, over the period 2012 to 2014; to compare the incidence of
PFP in relation to the times of the year in which the disease occurred; and to compare
the PFP incidence in relation to the air temperature at different times of the year. The
city of Presidente Prudente is located in the west of the state of São Paulo, between
the parallels 22º07’ south latitude and 51º23’ west longitude, with an urban area of
approximately 60km² and an estimated population of 218,960 inhabitants. The spatial cutout
(patients residing in the city of Presidente Prudente) and the temporal cut (between
2012-2014) were performed, and this period was chosen due to the considerable
increase in demand for physiotherapeutic care motivated by a media city of Presidente
Prudente and region. Twenty-six patients with medical referral were attended, being 18
women and 8 men. Air temperature climatic data, in the different periods of the year,
between 2012 and 2014, were surveyed according to those available at Meteorological
Station of FCT/UNESP - Presidente Prudente Campus.
