OCORRÊNCIA DE MICROTRINCAS DENTINÁRIAS EM CANAIS DISTAIS APÓS O USO DOS INSTRUMENTOS WAVEONE GOLD E MTWO
O objetivo do presente estudo foi
analisar a possível ocorrência de microtrincas
dentinárias, por meio de microtomografia
computadorizada (microCT), em canais distais
de molares inferiores após o preparo com os
sistemas WaveOne GOLD e Mtwo. Foram
selecionados e escaneados 52 molares
inferiores de acordo com configuração de canal
de Vertucci tipo IV. A amostra foi preparada com
os instrumentos Large do sistema WaveOne Gold
(45/.05) (n=26) e com o sistema Mtwo (25/.07,
30/.05/, 35/.04, 40/.04 e 45/.04) (n=26). Em
seguida os dentes foram novamente escaneados
em micro-CT. Foi realizada uma varredura nas
imagens transversais geradas após o preparo
e depois a cada milímetro dos 10mm apicais
dos dentes preparados. Foram catalogadas as
imagens que apresentavam microtrincas. Em
seguida foram analisadas as imagens geradas
após o preparo correspondentes às imagens
catalogadas para verificar a preexistência da
microtrinca dentinária. Foram geradas um
total de 41600 imagens, sendo observadas
microtrincas dentinárias em 24% (9984) delas.
Nas 520 imagens dos 10mm apicais 30%
(156 imagens) sendo observadas nos grupos
WOG (86 imagens) e no grupo Mtwo (70
imagens). Todas as microtrincas dentinárias
identificadas nas varreduras após o preparo
já estavam presentes nas imagens iniciais.
Sendo assim, uso dos instrumentos WaveOne
GOLD e Mtwo no preparo dos canais distais de
molares inferiores não induziu a formação de
microtrincas dentinárias.

Abstract:
The objective of the present
study was to analyze the possible occurrence
of dentin microcraks by computerized microtomography (microCT) in distal roots of
mandibular molars after preparation of WaveOne GOLD and Mtwo systems. Fifty-two
teeth were selected and scanned according to Vertucci type IV root canal configuration.
The samples were prepared either with WaveOne Gold large instrument (45 / .05) (n
= 26) or with Mtwo system (25 / .07, 30 / .05 /, 35 / .04, 40 / .04 and 45 / .04) (n = 26).
Then the teeth were again scanned by micro-CT. A scan analyzes of the 10mm at the
apical third was performed on the transverse images after preparation and then, every
one millimeter of these section was also analyzed. They were cataloged as images that
presented microcraks. After, the images generated after the preparation was analyzed
comparing to the images cataloged before in order to verify the preexistence of the
dentin microcraks. A total of 41600 images were generated, and dentin microcraks
were observed in 24% (9984) of them. In the 520 images of the 10mm apical 30%
(156 images) being observed in the WOG groups (86 images) and in the Mtwo group
(70 images). All the dentin microcraks identified after the preparation were presents in
the initial images. Therefore, the use of the WaveOne GOLD and Mtwo instruments in
distal root of mandibular molars did not induce the formation of dentin microcraks.
