OCORRÊNCIA DE LARVA MIGRANS CUTÂNEA NO MUNICÍPIO DE SANTA INÊS, BAHIA
RESUMO: Larva Migrans Cutânea, conhecida popularmente como bicho geográfico, é uma dermatite parasitária acometida aos seres humanos, por migração de larvas na epiderme, causada por helmintos do gênero Ancylostoma, parasitos de cães e gatos. Objetivou-se investigar a ocorrência de Larva Migrans Cutânea no Município de Santa Inês, Bahia. Mediante à suspeitas de pessoas que associaram a enfermidade em crianças com a frequência em praças e parques públicos municipais, que usam areia como piso, com acesso livre de cães e gatos. Realizou-se entrevista com familiares de crianças possivelmente infectadas que, possuíam histórico em comum de contato com tais áreas de recreação. Entre os entrevistados, 80% (4/5) quando questionados revelaram que não tinham conhecimento sobre a doença, mas, imaginavam que fosse algum tipo de alergia proveniente do solo dos parques e praças onde as crianças que foram infectadas brincavam frequentemente. Enquanto 20% (1/5) pontuaram que suspeitaram ser Larva Migrans Cutânea, pois ouvira falar sobre o assunto durante um curso da área Parasitológica. Todos os infectados que chegou ao conhecimento, estão abaixo da faixa etária de 12 anos e possuem hábitos de recreação em lugares arenosos, deste modo, favorecendo o contato corporal com as superfícies contaminadas e facilitando o contágio, onde pés, pernas, braços e mãos foram as áreas mais afetadas. Houve confirmação diagnóstica por médicos mas, a Secretaria de Saúde Municipal, informou que registrou apenas um caso. Entretanto, em relato extraoficial acredita-se que ocorreram ao menos 30 casos de sintomatologia sugestivos de Larva Migrans Cutânea no município. Notou-se que a desinformação sobre o tema é um fator que, aliado à crendices popular corroboram para a propagação da doença e desconhecimento de casos frequentes, dificultando ações de prevenção e controle.

ABSTRACT: Cutaneous Larva Migrans, popularly known as geographic bug, is a parasitic dermatitis that affects humans by migrating larvae in the epidermis, caused by helminths of the genus Ancylostoma, parasites of dogs and cats. The objective was to investigate the occurrence of Cutaneous Larva Migrans in Santa Inês, Bahia. Due to the suspicion of people who associated the disease in children with the frequency in public squares and municipal parks, who use sand as a floor, with free access for dogs and cats. Interviews were carried out with relatives of possibly infected children who had a common history of contact with such recreational areas. Among the interviewees, 80% (4/5) when questioned revealed that they had no knowledge about the disease, but thought it was some kind of allergy from the soil of parks and squares where children who were infected often played. While 20% (1/5) said they suspected it was Cutaneous Larva Migrans, as they heard about the subject during a course in the parasitological area. All infected people that came to the knowledge are below the age of 12 years and have recreational habits in sandy places, thus favoring body contact with contaminated surfaces and facilitating contagion, where feet, legs, arms and hands were the most affected areas. There was diagnostic confirmation by doctors, but the Municipal Health Department reported that it registered only one case. However, in an unofficial report, it is believed that there were at least 30 cases of symptoms suggestive of Cutaneous Larva Migrans in the city. It was noted that misinformation on the subject is a factor that, together with popular beliefs, contribute to the spread of the disease and lack of knowledge of frequent cases, hindering prevention and control actions.
