OBSTÁCULOS E POTENCIALIDADES DA APLICAÇÃO DE METODOLOGIAS ATIVAS NA EDUCAÇÃO: UMA REVISÃO DA LITERATURA

• Abstract: With the advancement of human development, it became clear that passive teaching methodology was becoming progressively obsolete, since it entailed multiple difficulties, highlighting active methodologies. The study aimed to highlight, through scientific literature, the main positive points and challenges facing the implementation of active methodologies in higher education. This is a bibliographic research of the narrative literature review type. The research was carried out in the databases Scientific Electronic Library Online, Pubmed, Education Resources Information Center and the Periodicals Portal of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel. For the search, the keywords used were: “Education”, “Higher Education”, “Teaching methodologies”, “Active methodology”, “Passive methodology”. After the entire process of research and selection of keywords in the databases, nine results were selected for the results table that answered the guiding question. These nine findings were categorized, highlighting the information of: finding number, author(s), year of publication, article title and journal of publication. Studies show that such methodologies bring a number of benefits, including fostering critical and creative skills, increasing practical self-confidence and improving information retention. However, implementing these practices faces significant challenges.
