ÓBITOS E IMUNIZAÇÃO: ANÁLISES DOS ÓBITOS E DA COBERTURA VACINAL CONTRA GRIPE NAS REGIÕES BRASILEIRAS ENTRE OS ANOS DE 2007 A 2017
Introdução: A gripe é uma doença aguda que acomete o aparelho respiratório, causada pelo vírus Influenzae, sendo imunoprevenível pela vacina. No Brasil, a imunização para gripe é anual e destinada aos grupos de riscos, como: idosos, gestantes, trabalhadores da saúde, povos indígenas e pessoas com doenças crônicas. Objetivo: Analisar a mortalidade e cobertura vacinal por influenza no Brasil, 2007-2017. Metodologia: Estudo epidemiológico, descritivo com dados do Sistema de Informações sobre Mortalidade e Sistema de Informações do Programa Nacional de Imunização (2007-2017). Resultados: Identificaram-se no Brasil 6.971 óbitos que tiveram como causa básica a gripe. O Sudeste registrou 38,89% das mortes, Sul 31,03%, Nordeste 15,32%, Centro-Oeste 9,01% e Norte 5,75%. Os acometidos foram femininos (50,68%), brancos (50%), >80 anos (20,48%) e ocorreram em hospitais (80,53%). Para cobertura vacinal no Brasil, em 2009, apresentou 82,77%; no Norte 92,06%; no Centro-Oeste 87,17%, no Nordeste 85,71%, no Sudeste 79,87% e no Sul 76,99%. Em 2016, a imunização no Brasil foi de 95,44%, sendo maior no Sudeste (98,40%). Em 2017 o país obteve 89,06% e o Sul atingiu a maior cobertura (90,63%). Conclusões: A gripe é causada por um vírus com diversas mutações, impossibilitando estabelecer quando ocorrerá surtos, epidemias e pandemias. Porém, é imprescindível imunizar os grupos de riscos para evitar o agravamento da condição e evolução para o óbito. A qualificação do preenchimento dos sistemas auxilia no entendimento da situação epidemiológica e subsidiam os gestores nas formulações de políticas públicas.

Introduction: Influenza is an acute disease that affects the respiratory system, caused by the Influenza virus, and is vaccine-preventable. In Brazil, immunization against flu is annual and aimed at risk groups, such as: the elderly, pregnant women, health workers, indigenous peoples and people with chronic diseases. Objective: To analyze the mortality and vaccination coverage due to influenza in Brazil, 2007-2017. Methodology: Epidemiological, descriptive study with data from the Mortality Information System and Information System of the National Immunization Program (2007-2017). Results: In Brazil, 6,971 deaths were identified that had the flu as their underlying cause. The Southeast registered 38.89% of deaths, South 31.03%, Northeast 15.32%, Midwest 9.01% and North 5.75%. Those affected were female (50.68%), white (50%), >80 years (20.48%) and occurred in hospitals (80.53%). For vaccination coverage in Brazil, in 2009, it presented 82.77%; in the North 92.06%; in the Midwest 87.17%, in the Northeast 85.71%, in the Southeast 79.87% and in the South 76.99%. In 2016, immunization in Brazil was 95.44%, being higher in the Southeast (98.40%). In 2017, the country obtained 89.06% and the South reached the highest coverage (90.63%). Conclusions: Influenza is caused by a virus with several mutations, making it impossible to establish when outbreaks, epidemics and pandemics will occur. However, it is essential to immunize risk groups to prevent the worsening of the condition and evolution to death. The qualification of filling in the systems helps to understand the epidemiological situation and supports managers in formulating public policies.
