ÓBITO DECORRENTE DA HEMORRAGIA INTRACRANIANA: RELATO DE CASO
: O trauma cranioencefálico (TCE) é definido como uma agressão à estruturas intra e extracranianas, comum na população idosa, pois essa faixa etária é mais suscetível a quedas devido a mecanismos osteomusculares e neurais envolvidos em manutenção de postura ineficiente, bem como presença de fatores de risco existentes na senilidade. Sendo a hemorragia intracraniana a consequência mais grave do TCE, a rápida identificação de danos presentes em estruturas cerebrais bem como adequado manejo do paciente pela equipe, torna-se crucial a fim de preservar a vida e manutenção das funções do indivíduo. O presente relato de caso trata-se de um paciente idoso, vítima de queda em domicílio, que devido a grave hemorragia intracraniana, veio a óbito.

Abstract:
: Traumatic brain injury (TBI) defined as an aggression against intra and extracranial structures common in the elderly population, because this age group is more susceptible to falls due to musculoskeletal and neural mechanisms involved in maintaining inefficient posture as well as the presence of existing risk factors in senility. As intracranial hemorrhage is the most serious consequence of TBI, the rapid identification of damage present in brain structures as well as the appropriate management of the patient by the team, becomes crucial in order to preserve the life and maintenance of the individual's functions. The present case report is about an elderly patient, victim of a fall at home, who due to severe intracranial hemorrhage, died.
