Abstract: This study aimed to investigate, the Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs) that use therapeutic play (TP) for performing hospital procedures in pediatric settings. An integrative literature review with an exploratory and qualitative approach was carried out in the LILACS, SciELO, and Google Scholar databases, covering articles published between 2020 and 2025, in Portuguese, available in full and free of charge. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, 18 studies were selected for analysis. The results showed that the most frequent modalities involved the simulation of procedures with dolls and hospital materials, free or guided play in playrooms and pediatric units, and the use of dramatic therapeutic play (DTP). Interventions targeted children in different contexts, such as childhood cancer, peripheral or central venous access, diabetes, neuropalliative care, postoperative dressings, and ICU visits. Thematic analysis generated six main categories: emotional impact; adherence and collaboration; communication and bonding; development and socialization; health education; and family support. It was found that TP, in its different modalities, favors the reduction of fear, anxiety, and tension, improves the child's acceptance and cooperation, strengthens the bond with the healthcare team, and provides greater safety for families in care. It is concluded that the use of SOPs with TP is an effective strategy in pediatric hospital care, and it is necessary to expand multicenter studies, standardize protocols, and invest in training multidisciplinary teams for the systematic application of these practices.
