Abstract: The main objective of this academic article is to present the relationship between the use of Brazilian literature and the literacy process in the context of Youth and Adult Education. The existence of this article is justified by the fact that it discusses a topic of educational and, therefore, social relevance. In addition, the specific objectives are: to encourage new reflections and studies on the subject; to theoretically support educational actions in Youth and Adult Education classes throughout the brazilian country; and to give visibility to the importance of using literature in classes. This article used bibliographical research as a source of information, being structured in: 1. Introduction, 2. Theoretical basis, 3. Methodology, 4. The use of Brazilian literature and literacy in education of young and adults peoples: a brief discussion, 5. Final considerations and References. As a final result, a discussion was obtained about the use of Brazilian literature in the literacy process of students in Youth and Adult Education.
