O SERVIÇO SOCIAL E A POLÍTICA DE EDUCAÇÃO BÁSICA: REFLEXÕES SOBRE A IMPORTÂNCIA DO/A ASSISTENTE SOCIAL NOS PROCESSOS DE TRABALHO DA EDUCAÇÃO BÁSICA NO BRASIL
A escola é um espaço social que cotidianamente tem sido convocada a
articular o conhecimento científico com o desenvolvimento humano e social de
seu/sua (s) aluno/a(s). Entretanto ela tem sido marcada por problemáticas que
extrapolam os muros da escola, mediante o processo de negação de direito
vivenciado por toda sociedade brasileira na conjuntura atual. Diante disso, é de
grande relevância que as equipes das escolas tenham em sua composição técnica
um/uma profissional capacitado/a para interferir nas expressões da “questão
social” que perpassam a comunidade escolar. Dito isso, este artigo resulta de uma
pesquisa qualitativa de cunho documental e bibliográfico, realizada pela
Universidade Estadual da Paraíba em parceria com a Universidade Federal da
Paraíba no período de setembro de 2015 a junho de 2016. O estudo em tela propõe
trazer algumas reflexões sobre a importância do/as Assistentes Sociais nos
processos de trabalho da Educação Básica, a partir de uma análise sobre a educação
e a inserção do Serviço Social nas escolas, trazendo alguns apontamentos sobre a
necessidade desse/a profissional no enfrentamento das questões contemporâneas
do ambiente escolar, a fim de contribuir com as reflexões sobre a importância do/a
Assistente Social nas equipes multiprofissionais das escolas, bem como fortalecer a
luta por uma educação pública, laica e de qualidade que vislumbra a emancipação
humana.

Abstract:
The school is a social space that is daily called to articulate scientific
knowledge with the human and social development of its student (s). However, it has
been marked by problems that go beyond the walls of the school, through the process
of denial of law experienced by all Brazilian society in the current conjuncture. Given
this, it is of great relevance that the school teams have in their technical composition
a professional trained to interfere in the expressions of the "social question" that
permeate the school community. That said, this article is the result of a qualitative
research of a documental and bibliographic nature, carried out by the State University
of Paraíba in partnership with the Federal University of Paraíba from September 2015
to June 2016. The on-screen study proposes to bring some reflections on the
importance of Social Workers in the work processes of Basic Education, based on an
analysis on education and the insertion of Social Service in schools, bringing some
notes about the need of this professional in facing the contemporary issues of the
school environment , in order to contribute to the reflections on the importance of the
Social Worker in the multiprofessional teams of the schools, as well as to strengthen
the struggle for a public, secular education of quality that envisions the human
emancipation.
