Abstract: Food and nutrition insecurity is a phenomenon that occurs when the population lacks access to healthy food to meet their basic needs. Although it is a global issue, local measures are essential to ensure the survival of vulnerable groups. In this context, the Food Security Program (FSP) was implemented in Londrina/PR in June 2023 and currently serves 1300 families in extreme poverty with highly nutritious food from local family agriculture. This program provides a monthly variety of fresh foods with nutritional diversity and variable composition according to availability and harvest, planned by nutritionists to complement the national basic food basket. This initiative arose from various discussions at the Municipal Food and Nutrition Security Conferences since 2018, highlighting the importance of food quality, nutritional diversity, and dignified and free access for the most vulnerable. The success of the FSP has made it a reference in municipal public policy, with plans to expand throughout the state of Paraná.
