Abstract: The article discusses various alternative therapeutic approaches for menopausal symptoms, including insomnia, depression, and anxiety. A total of 4,065 articles were analyzed, with 85 selected after eligibility criteria, and 18 articles excluded at the end of the review. Reviewed studies investigated treatments such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, hormonal therapy, homeopathy, yoga, and electroacupuncture, among others. The importance of individualizing treatment, considering individual hormonal sensitivity and the complexity of symptoms during menopause, is highlighted. Some treatments showed promising results, such as electroacupuncture, which was effective in reducing depression and improving the quality of life of women in perimenopause. Other studies examined the effectiveness of estrogen plus progestogen therapy in preventing depressive symptoms and the efficacy of individualized homeopathy compared to fluoxetine in treating depression. In conclusion, reviewed studies suggest that alternative therapeutic approaches may be effective in improving quality of life during menopause, but further research is needed to fully understand their role and ensure their safety and efficacy.
