O EXISTENCIALISMO NO ROMANCE GRAÇA, DE LUIZ VILELA
O presente artigo analisa as ressonâncias do existencialismo no romance Graça, de Luiz Vilela (1989), refletindo sobre sua constituição de palimpsesto ao retratar os relacionamentos conjugais da personagem narradora Epifânio. O referencial teórico da pesquisa é o pensamento de Jean-Paul Sartre (1905 – 1980), filósofo que caracterizou diversos desdobramentos no âmbito da fenomenologia existencial. O romance de Vilela apresenta um relato imaginoso que coloca em cena não apenas um dos temas mais recorrentes da literatura universal, que é a questão do encontro amoroso, como também, e uma vez mais, a própria problemática da construção de discurso ficcional e das potencialidades da linguagem na mediação entre vida e criação artística.

Abstract:
This article analyzes the resonances of existentialism in the novel Graça, by Luiz Vilela (1989), reflecting on his constitution of palimpsest when portraying the conjugal relationships of the narrator character Epifânio. The theoretical framework of the research is the thought of Jean-Paul Sartre (1905 - 1980), a philosopher who characterized several developments within the scope of existential phenomenology. Vilela's novel presents an imaginative account that places on the scene not only one of the most recurring themes in universal literature, which is the question of the amorous encounter, but also, and once again, the very problem of the construction of fictional discourse and potential of language in the mediation between life and artistic creation.
