Abstract: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common neurobehavioral disorders diagnosed in childhood, characterized by distraction, attention deficit, anxiety, impulsive behaviors and excess motor activity. Nutrients are extremely important for the functioning of the brain, and changes in some regions can interfere with the ability to maintain attention and self-control of behavior. Furthermore, children with ADHD present dietary deficiencies, such as deficiencies in omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, zinc, iron, B vitamins and vitamin D. This work aimed to gather information available in the literature regarding the influence of diet and nutrition in the development of ADHD in children. To this end, the method used was an integrative literature review. During the analysis of the results, it was observed that the studies support the need for a greater breadth of knowledge and publications in the area due to the increasing search for professional guidance when related to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder - ADHD in children, citing the importance of a good nutrition and nutrients necessary for better cognitive and motor development. Literature presents a scarcity of studies with scientific support, making it important to expand the knowledge of nutrition professionals and related areas.
