NOVAS CONSTRUÇÕES, NOVAS OCUPAÇÕES E NOVOS DESABAMENTOS: A VELHA “MALANDRAGEM” NA DINÂMICA IMOBILIÁRIA DA LAPA.
Este artigo tem como objetivo
principal debater o processo de “revitalização”
da Lapa através da “recente” valorização
imobiliária de um bairro histórico repleto de
sem tetos, de antigas construções condenadas
e, agora, de grandes e novos empreendimentos
residenciais e comerciais. Em meio à fama
turística internacional, as referências à
histórica boemia do bairro tornaram-se armas
fundamentais para a retomada da visibilidade
da Lapa, agora como um local “de retorno às
raízes culturais” da cidade. Esta questão tornase,
portanto, parte das discussões acerca
da mundialização dos lugares, o que, por
conseguinte, coloca a geografia no centro dos
debates.

Abstract:
This article has as main objective
to discuss the process of “revitalization” of Lapa
through the “recent” real estate valuation of a
historical neighborhood full of homeless, old
buildings condemned and now of great and
new residential and commercial ventures. In the
midst of international tourist fame, references
to the historic bohemia of the neighborhood
have become fundamental weapons for the
resumption of visibility of Lapa, now as a
place “back to the cultural roots” of the city.
This question therefore becomes part of the
discussions on the globalization of places,
which therefore places geography at the center
of the debates.
