Abstract: Objective: To investigate the impact of Bisphenol A exposure through heating food in plastic containers on endometriosis, compared to heredity. Methodology: A study with women diagnosed with endometriosis, divided into two groups: one with a family history of the disease and another without. Subdivided based on the habit of heating food in plastic containers in the microwave. The chi-square test was used to analyze the influence of exposure. Results: A total of 375 women responded to the questionnaire. Eight were excluded, resulting in a final sample of 367 women. The chi-square test revealed that exposure to bisphenol A via heating food in plastic containers in the microwave has an influence and surpasses heredity in the development of endometriosis. Conclusion: Considering the limitations of the study, the results encourage further research on the topic.
